What is a homebuyer report?
The RICS homebuyer report is more extensive than the condition report but is not as detailed as the building survey. It is a useful report for properties of conventional construction and includes further advice on defects and necessary maintenance works. The report includes the following:
• All of the features included with the condition report
• A list of identified defects and problems which might affect the property
• Advice on general repairs and ongoing routine maintenance
• Matters which require further investigation to prevent serious damage or dangerous conditions
• Issues to be investigated by your legal advisors prior to progressing with purchase
• Relevant information on the properties location, local environment and energy efficiency ratings (where available)
